Visiting JEWA in Stockholm
Yesterday we visited JEWA, a Swedish trade show for jewellery designers and brands. Trade shows are fun because you get to meet all kind of people. From goldsmiths, to wholesalers, to shopkeepers, to independent jewellery designers. And then of course you get to see a lot of amazing jewelry!
People visiting JEWA
My absolute favorite when visiting trade fairs is to meet independent jewellery designers and hear more about their processes, stories and ideas behind their jewellery.
Different offerings in different booths
There were also a lot of booths that represented companies that sells materials such as pearls and precious and semi-precious stones, chains and tools for jewellery making.
Rows and rows of different pearls
Whats trending?
Statement jewellery seems to be trending on the womens side and many brands also start turning their focus to men. The jewellery aimed at men seem to consist of the traditional semi-chunky chains and black details but also black plated and polished metals seem to be coming up strong.
Next week we are traveling to Madrid to visit some more trade shows and it´s going to be interesting to compare the different countries jewellery offerings!
