How to wear heavy earrings without damaging your earlobes
Earrings are an easy way to change the appearance off an outfit. A set of small studs speaks a totally different language compared to fex hoops or chandelier earrings. And that´s one of the reasons why earrings are the preferred jewellery type for many.
Me my self love big earrings. And a nice pair of statement earrings are never wrong in my opinion. The only downside to big earrings is that they often can be quite heavy, at least if they are inserted with any kind of real stones or rhinestones. And as we all know, wearing heavy earrings in the wrong way can make your earlobes stretch or the earring holes to rip and who in the world wants that?
Luckily there are ways to prevent this!
3 ways to protect you earlobes
USE CLIP-ONS
If you are afraid of your earring holes to rip or gradually become longer, you could opt in for clip-on earrings. Clip-ons clip to the earlobe and since there is no part of the earring that is piercing through your ear, they can not damage your earring holes.

GIVE THEM SUPPORT
Earlobes can get stretched out over the years because of frequent use of heavy earrings. One way to cope with this is to use something that distributes the weight of the earring differently, so that your earlobe is not the one doing all the work.
Ear lobe support patches can be bought both in online and offline stores. They are like small invisible pieces of tape that you tape to the back of your earlobe. You then stick the earring through the tape while attaching it. This helps to distribute the weight of the earring to a larger area, thus preventing stretching.
I´ve also seen people cut out pieces of band-aids to receive the same result. All though I prefer the almost invisible ear lobe support patches.
SWITCH TO LIGHTER MATERIALS
Another way of solving the problem is to go for lighter materials. Materials like stones or rhinestones are usually quite heavy, whilest material like resin is so much more light weight. With lighter materials you can usually go even bigger if you would want that!
Lighter materials like resin are good if you want to be able to wear big earrings but dont want to carry all that weight
So I hope this article gave you some ideas on how to safely continue the use of heavier earrings!
Give it a go, and let us know how your thoughts!
