4 different ways you can wear a statement necklace
Are statement necklaces a thing? Oh, yes!
Who has not seen pictures of Vogue chief editor Anna Wintour casually stacking her big crystal necklaces for a monday at the office? Or Lady Gaga wearing the ICONIC Tiffany yellow diamond to the Oscars gala?
A big necklace is a way to make an impression.
Today we´ll show you 4 different ways you can wear a statement necklace.
Layering necklaces
Layering necklaces is a great way to find your own UNIQUE look. By layering pieces that you love you really can create your own story and your own authentic look.
Metal layers An all metallic combination of layered necklaces are very easy to pair with most outfits. And it doesn't matter whether you prefer silver, gold or a bold mix of both.
Color stacked layers Another way to layer is to color-stack. Different hues of the same color makes a harmonious impression. One celebrity who OWNS this look is Anna Wintour. She is known for her big crystal necklace stacks, and no wonder - they always look great!
Color-combined layers Similar to color-stacking, color combining is all about combining colors and hues that go well together. Hailey Bieber is known for her tasteful necklace stacks. Here she has combined a bunch of white tennis-necklaces with a chunky chain choker in gold. Very elegant. Very high-fashion.
The ONE piece
Sometimes you feel like only opting in for one piece of jewellery. This is the time when you go for that One-iconic-piece-look.
The big statement A big statement necklace is a good option when you want to create a specific focal point. Maybe you are going to an event where you need to shine or maybe you are just wearing a neckline that needs something to make the look work. Lady Gaga is known for showing up at different events with some stunner statement necklaces.
The fashion icon If you are going for a more of a fashion icon-look - you should definitely go more bold! like these outrageously quirky and bold jewellery pieces from Schiaparelli.
Soft and sophisticated
Can one be both elegant AND over the top at the same time? Absolutely. Pearls were once seen as dusty relics that only grandmothers would wear, but pearls have really had a revival and they can be worn in so many ways!
Long pearls Long pearls look great when layered. Tie them in a knot and the necklace gets a totally different look. Wear them with a turtleneck or a v-neckline. Or why not with a strict well-cut black suit?
Chunky pearl chokers Coco Chanel once said that “A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls” and she may have been on to something. Combine a short and chunky pearl necklace with a silk shirt and you are ready for anything coming your way.
Chunky chains
Chunky chains have been everywhere the past couple of years. And it seems like they are getting bigger and bigger by the minute.
Modern chunky chains Many of the chunky chain trends that we see today originate from hiphop culture. And even though we might not want to walk around with a clock as big as the one Flavor Flav had on his necklace in the 80-s, chunky chains really are power jewellery. Here we see Kim Kardashian in a very blingy chunky chain choker.
Classical chunky And it´s not only rappers who like big chains. Singer Rita Ora wore this amazing piece to the opening of the Elsa Schiaparelli exhibition in Paris in 2022.
